Notes
Cursor keeps VS Code-style user data under %APPDATA%\Cursor\ and Cursor-specific agent data under %USERPROFILE%\.cursor\.
Both roots, User\globalStorage\state.vscdb, User\workspaceStorage\<hash>\state.vscdb + workspace.json, User\History,
Backups, logs\<timestamp>\, machineid, and .cursor\{agents,ai-tracking\ai-code-tracking.db,plugins,projects\<slug>\{canvases,mcps,terminals},argv.json,extensions\extensions.json}
were confirmed on Windows Server 2025 with a fresh Cursor install (winget Anysphere.Cursor).
Agent conversations are stored in globalStorage\state.vscdb (cursorDiskKV table); per-workspace state.vscdb lists which
conversations belong to which folder. Full agent transcripts are also written as JSONL under .cursor\projects\<encoded path>\agent-transcripts\.
The .cursor\projects\<slug>\canvases\ folder can contain node_modules and is not collected.
